Congratulations on a great season! 11/01 -- State Finals at M.I.S. in Brooklyn Boys: The Spartans placed 20th at the State Finals. Senior Nate Dahlgren led the team with a time of 16:29. A.J. Christafferson ran a personal best time of 16:58 and earned the 9th spot on the Millennium Milestones record board. Brandon George also ran a personal best with a time of 17:17. Completing the Sparta team were Jake Gilman, Jake VerSluys, Dustin Reed and Eddie Mazurkiewicz. Girls: Katelyn Cnossen, who qualified for the State Finals as an individual, ran a season best time of 19:16. 10/25 -- Regional 11-2 at Sparta Boys: With a great team effort, the Spartans placed 3rd in the Regional and qualified for the State Finals at Michigan International Speedway on November 1. Nate Dahlgren led the way with a 5th place finish of 17:43. Also medaling for the boys was A.J. Christafferson who finished 15th in 18:18. He was followed closely by Brandon George in 17th place at 18:30. Jake Gilman and Jake VerSluys were the 4th and 5th Sparta runners and helped to secure the team's 3rd place finish. Girls: The girls placed 4th in a very strong Regional. Katelyn Cnossen was 11th in 21:04 and qualified for the State Finals. She was followed by Bayley Ravell, Andrea Kober, Allison Scheidel, Claire Gill, Kaitlyn Balderas and Natalie Klenk. 10/15 -- OK Blue Conference Meet at Cedar Springs Boys: Nate Dahlgren led the Spartans to a 3rd place team finish. Dahlgren placed 2nd individually with a time of 16:38. A.J. Christafferson placed 8th in 17:07. Having personal bests were Brandon George in 17:19 and Jake Gilman in 17:24. Girls: The girls placed first in the meet with a great team effort. Katelyn Cnossen led the team with her 2nd place finish in 19:41. She was followed by Allison Scheidel, Andrea Kober, Bayley Ravell, Claire Gill, Natalie Klenk and Kaitlyn Balderas. Casey Trimble won the JV girls race in 22:48. 10/04 -- Allegan Tiger Invitational Boys: Nate Dahlgren's 16:52 led the boys to a 3rd place finish in the meet. Girls: Allison Scheidel ran a time of 20:44, followed by Katelyn Cnossen in 20:49. 10/01 -- Sparta vs. Belding and West Catholic at Lightning Bend Park in Belding Boys: The boys defeated Belding by a score of 18-45, and lost to West Catholic 22-34. First across the line for the Spartans was Nate Dahlgren with a time of 16:47. He was followed by A.J. Christafferson in 17:00 and Brandon George in 17:25, earning George the 3rd spot for the Millennium Milestones freshman record. Girls: Katelyn Cnossen's season best 19:47 led the girls to a 16-47 win over Belding and a 25-31 victory over West Catholic. She was followed by Allison Scheidel in 19:59 and Bayley Ravell in 20:22. 09/27 -- Bulldog Invitational at Otsego Boys: The boys placed 4th in the meet, with Nate Dahlgren running a time of 16:21, earning him a tie for 5th place on the top ten record board. A.J. Christafferson also earned a medal with his time of 17:17. Girls: The girls also placed 4th in the meet. Allison Scheidel placed 10th with a time of 20:20. Katelyn Cnossen also earned a medal with her time of 20:41. In the jv race, Casey Trimble placed 1st with a time of 22:39, and Erika Lang earned a medal with an 8th place finish of 23:22. 09/17 -- Sparta vs. Cedar Springs and Coopersville at Cedar Springs Boys: The Spartans came out with one win and one loss at the OK Blue double dual at Cedar Springs. They defeated Coopersville 18-42 and fell short of Cedar 23-33. Nate Dahlgren placed first with a time of 16:50, and was followed by A.J.Christafferson, Brandon George, Jake Gilman, Jake VerSluys, Dustin Reed and Wes VanOss. Girls: The girls won both their duals, defeating Coopersville 20-39 and winning over Cedar Springs 24-35. Allison Scheidel led the way with a time of 20:30. She was followed by teammates Andrea Kober, Bayley Ravell, Katelyn Cnossen, Claire Gill, Kaitlyn Balderas and Chelsea Andrews. 09/13 -- Sparta Invitational Boys: In the rainiest and muddiest Sparta Invitational on record, the Spartans placed 4th in their 11-team division. In the varsity race, Nate Dahlgren led the way for the team of A.J. Christafferson, Brandon George, Jake VerSluys, Jake Gilman, Wes VanOss and Eddie Mazurkiewicz. In the reserve race, the Spartans were led by Zach Leach who placed 8th. Girls: The girls placed 9th and were led by Andrea Kober. Completing the varsity team were Bayley Ravell, Katelyn Cnossen, Allison Scheidel, Natalie Klenk, Casey Trimble and Chelsea Andrews. The Spartans were led in the reserve race by Kaitlyn Balderas. 09/10 -- Sparta vs. Grand Rapids Central at Riverside Park Boys: The boys won 15-50. The top seven runners were Nate Dahlgren, Brandon George, A.J. Christafferson, Jake Gilman, Jake VerSluys, Eddie Mazurkiewicz and Wes VanOss. Girls: The girls won their meet 21-39. The top seven Spartans were Allison Scheidel, Andrea Kober, Bayley Ravell, Katelyn Cnossen, Casey Trimble, Chelsea Andrews and Natalie Klenk. 09/06 -- Hornet Run Invitational at Central Montcalm Boys: Brandon George won the 9th grade boys race in 18:17. In the 10th grade race, A.J. Christafferson placed 2nd in 18:02. Nate Dahlgren was 2nd in the 12th grade race in 17:14. Girls: Allison Scheidel placed first in the 10th grade race with a time of 20:50. Andrea Kober was 4th in the 11th grade race in 21:54, and Claire Gill placed 5th in the 9th grade race in 23:09. 09/03 -- Sparta vs. Comstock Park and Forest Hills Northern at Riverside Park Boys: The boys defeated Comstock Park with a perfect 15-50 score. They defeated Forest Hills Northern 24-33. Among the many personal best times for the Spartans was Nate Dahlgren's 16:34, which earned him the Number 9 spot on the school record board. Completing Sparta's top seven runners were A.J. Christafferson, Brandon George, Jake Gilman, Colton Cnossen, Dustin Reed and Jake VerSluys. Girls: The girls defeated Comstock Park 18-45 but lost a close contest with Forest Hills Northern. Allison Scheidel lead the way for the Spartans with a personal best time of 20:07. Completing the top seven were Andrea Kober, Chelsea Andrews, Casey Trimble, Bayley Ravell, Kaitlyn Balderas and Natalie Klenk. 08/27 -- Lakewood Invitational at Lake Odessa Boys: The varsity boys placed 2nd in the 10-team invitational. Nate Dahlgren was 2nd overall with a time of 17:38. Freshman Brandon George placed 9th with a time of 18:27. The Spartans won the jv race, with Zach Leach placing 2nd in a time of 19:26. Eddie Mazurkiewicz and Jake VerSluys finished 3rd and 4th. Girls: Allison Scheidel's 4th place finish of 21:19 led the varsity girls to a 2nd place team finish. Andrea Kober was the 2nd Spartan across the line finishing in 15th place at 22:40. The jv girls won their competition, and were led by Natalie Klenk in 3rd place at 25:15 and Erika Lang in 4th at 25:52. 08/19 -- Orchard View Invitational at Muskegon Boys: The Spartans placed 3rd in the 13-team meet. Nate Dahlgren led the way running a time of 17:30. Completing the top seven runners for Sparta were A.J. Christafferson, Brandon George, Jake Gilman, Colton Cnossen, Wes VanOss and Dustin Reed. Girls: The girls placed 4th in the meet, with Allison Scheidel leading the way for the Spartans in a time of 21:04. She was followed by Spartans Katelyn Cnossen, Bayley Ravell, Andrea Kober, Chelsea Andrews, Casey Trimble and Kaitlyn Balderas. |
